It focusesAs designed

Lenses: one practice, two versions.

A lens brings a way of working into The Wick and Lamplighter: what to draw on, how to work, and the templates that go with it. Each lens has a version for each app, and each version behaves the way its app does. The lantern is how a lens gets there, and how it stays marked as a lens.

From a lamplighter.

It arrives through the lantern, marked as set by them. The person gets The Wick’s version, and the lamplighter works from Lamplighter’s.

Added by the person.

The Wick works with it on its own. No lamplighter needed.

Marked, either way.

A lens says who set it, shows in the receipt of any answer it shapes, and can be paused or removed.

Every lens

What every lens does.

Says who set it.

Your lamplighter, or you.

Lists its sources.

Everything it draws on is named.

Shows its instructions.

Read how it works, in full.

Appears in receipts.

Any answer it shapes says so.

Pauses or goes.

Pause it or remove it whenever you like.

Labels no one.

It shapes how an app works with someone. It never names what they are.
