Two apps

Each one is whole on its own.

Someone can use The Wick without a lamplighter, and a practitioner can use Lamplighter with clients who’ve never heard of The Wick.

The Wick

For people doing the inner work.

Their words, kept on their device. Under a key they hold.
Answers with receipts. Every answer shows where it came from. A guess is marked as a guess.
A lens, if they want one. They can add a lens themselves. No lamplighter needed.
A lamplighter, if they have one. The lantern connects them, on their terms.

The lantern

One technology, three jobs.

The lantern is inside The Wick and Lamplighter, and between them. It keeps what’s said, carries what you send each other, and focuses both apps on a practice.

Every word, verbatim, with a receipt on every answer. What’s sourced, what was set aside with a yes, and what’s only a guess are marked the same way in both apps.

The three marks

It carries.

Lanterns go both ways between sessions: what the person sends, what the lamplighter sends in, a request to join, a request to transcribe. Each one is sent on purpose and says who sent it.

What a lantern carries

It focuses.

Lenses bring a practice into both apps: its knowledge, its instructions and its templates, with a version for The Wick and a version for Lamplighter.

The Wick can suggest. Only the person sends, weekly lanterns included, and a lamplighter joins a chat only when let in.

Each app keeps its own.

The person’s record stays in The Wick, and the lamplighter’s notes stay in Lamplighter. Everything that crosses goes through the lantern.

You can see when they’re involved.

The lamplight bar shows whenever a lamplighter is part of what’s on screen.
